There are so many qualities that can higher your self-confidence and give you the inner balance you need! The problem is at times is we don’t know how to recognize them, we might not even know which qualities to choose from!
There are many exercises you can do to increase your self-confidence. Today, I leave you with one which is highly used in counseling and life coaching to not only strengthen your confidence, but to fight what we call the Impostor Syndrome.
Have you ever heard of the Impostor Syndrome?
People who have this syndrome are unable to assimilate their achievements, they feel like frauds, they are convinced that they do not deserve the success they have obtained, there is a constant rejection of success because it is attributed to luck and nothing else. According to the Journal of Behavior Science an average of 70% of people suffer from this syndrome, and it can affect all people no matter their gender, age, and occupation. This syndrome can severely affect our professional and personal success. Going through life believing we are not worthy of our achievements can severely limit us in so many levels; from avoiding risks because of fear, to constantly feeling like a fraud.
“Sometimes I wake up in the morning before going off to a shoot, and I think, I can’t do this. I’m a fraud.” – Kate Winslett
This activity will help you higher your self-confidence while fighting the Impostor Syndrome.
You will list 3 different achievements you have accomplished in your life, and then right next to each of those achievements you will write down all the qualities you have that helped you accomplish each of them. I do not want you to throw this activity away, keep it with you stored in a safe place, this way you can later read it and remind yourself of how amazing you truly are. To help you out I will leave you with a list of qualities to choose from in order to better help you choose from the array of amazing assets you have and might not even recognize them.
